Modules and entitlements

Goal

Understand which BlueMatrix modules your workspace can use, which are read-only on the plan, and how missing optional modules are discovered — without inventing a tenant “toggle modules” screen (enable/disable is plan-, pack-, or platform-ops-driven).

Who it is for

Tenant admins reviewing plan entitlements (subscription.view); billing portal needs subscription.manage. Industry pack apply needs industry_pack.view / industry_pack.apply. Enabling modules for a tenant from Ops is platform-operator work, not staff Help.

Preconditions

  • Signed in to the correct workspace.
  • Know your Current plan status (Trial / Active / Past due / Canceled).

Where modules appear (no dedicated Modules nav item)

Subscription

  1. Open Administration → Subscription (/subscription) — Your plan, usage and billing.
  2. Review Current plan, Usage meters (Meter / Used / Limit / Unlimited), and the Modules list.
  3. Modules tagged read-only can be viewed but not used to create new records until the plan upgrades.
  4. If you have subscription.manage, use Manage billing for the billing portal.

Tenant settings — Available modules

  1. Open Administration → Organization → Tenant settings → Operations.
  2. When the workspace has discoverable optional modules that are not enabled, the Available modules chips appear with hint: These optional modules are not enabled on your workspace. Contact an administrator to add them.

Industry packs

Applying an industry pack (see Industry packs Help) can enable modules included in the pack summary.

How entitlements work

  • Core (always on): members, parties, catalog, inventory, accounting, localization.
  • Default-granted (can be disabled on the tenant): e.g. sales, purchasing, pricing_promotions, statutory_compliance, calendar.
  • Optional: gated by plan / tenant_modules / packs. Access modes: full · read-only · none.
  • After a module is enabled, members still need the matching permissions (see Users and roles).

Result

You can explain why a nav item or API is missing, read-only, or available — and escalate to billing or platform Ops to change entitlements.

Hard stops (API → typically 422)

  • The :module module is not enabled for this tenant.
  • The :module module is read-only on your current plan. Existing records can be viewed, but creating new records requires an upgrade.
  • The :module module is not included in this tenant's current plan.
  • The :meter usage limit for the current plan has been reached.
