Convert a purchase quote

Goal

Turn an accepted purchase quote into a purchase order, or abandon a draft quote.

Who it is for

Purchaser with purchasing.manage (convert / delete drafts).

Preconditions

• Quote is draft (not already converted).
• Supplier and lines are valid; items must be purchasable.
• Workflow policy allows purchase_quote_to_order when enabled.

Steps

1. Open the draft quote.
2. Choose Convert → purchase order (purchase quotes convert to orders only, not bills).
3. Continue on the new draft order — approve / receive / bill as needed.
4. To abandon: Delete the draft when status allows. You cannot delete a converted quote.

Result

A draft purchase order exists, or the draft quote is removed.

Hard stops

Already converted; empty lines; item not purchasable; workflow denies convert; document immutable after convert.
