Edit a warehouse

Goal

Update warehouse identity or deactivate it without losing stock history.

Who it is for

Users with inventory.manage.

Preconditions

• Warehouse exists; you can open it from Warehouses.
• Warehouses are master data — there is no “posted document” lock. Stock history remains warehouse-scoped even if you deactivate.

Steps

1. Open Inventory → Warehouses.
2. Choose Edit (pencil) or open detail then edit.
3. Change Code, Name (translatable), and/or Active.
4. Save. Manage Storage locations from the list map action (not inside the warehouse form fields).

Result

Documents and movements keep using the warehouse id; inactive warehouses drop out of active pickers.

Hard stops

Duplicate code; missing default-locale name; code longer than 32; lack of inventory.manage. Prefer Active off over delete when the warehouse has history.
