Create a support ticket
Goal
Open a new customer support ticket in status Open.
Who it is for
Users with support.manage.
Preconditions
- Module support on; at least one department and a usable priority (or a Default priority under Support setup → Options).
- A customer party exists (or you can create one from the customer lookup).
- If Options has Require SLA hours on every priority, the chosen priority must have SLA (hours) set.
Steps
- Open Support → Tickets → New ticket (modal form).
- Select Customer (required).
- Optionally set Contact and Project for that customer (lists load from CRM contacts / PM projects for the party).
- Select Department (required) and Priority (required unless a tenant default fills it).
- Optionally select Service, Assignee, and enter Subject (required, max 255 characters).
- Save. Status on create is always Open (the create form status control does not override this). Assignment follows the ticket assignee you picked, otherwise the Options Assignment policy (
Leave unassigned/Assign to creator/Default assignee). - SLA due time is calculated from Options (Default SLA (hours) and/or priority hours when Prefer priority SLA hours when set).
Result
The ticket appears on the list as Open. Next: reply, assign, or close.
Hard stops
- Missing priority and no default →
A support priority is required (or set a default in Support setup). - Priority without SLA hours while Require SLA hours on every priority is on → priority SLA required error.
- Unknown or mismatched contact/project/department/service → 422 domain errors.
