Price lists overview

Goal

Understand price lists as the master price books that sales quotes (and Commerce) resolve against.

Who it is for

Clerk or manager with pricing.view (manage lines and headers needs pricing.manage).

What a price list is

A price list is reference data — not a draft/posted commerce document. Each list has:

  • Code, translatable Name, required Currency
  • Optional Valid from / Valid to and free-text Channel
  • Default — used when a quote does not name a specific list (and precedence reaches the default)
  • Publish to Commerce / Commerce default — storefront sync; exactly one published list should be the Commerce default

Lines (via Prices) set Item, optional Unit (blank = base unit), Min qty (volume break), and Unit price.

How it fits pricing

  1. Create one or more lists and mark a tenant Default.
  2. Add item prices on each list.
  3. Optionally map customers through price groups.
  4. Optionally layer promotions on top of list price.
  5. Tune resolution in Pricing setup.
