First-week checklist

Goal

Finish the minimum setup so clerks can post the first sales and purchasing documents in week one, then walk the hubs for every module this workspace has enabled.

The Dashboard shows a role- and module-aware Your first week panel (dismissible) with the same spine as this article, plus a hub step for each enabled module and optional guided tours. That panel is learning — not the go-live gate. Go-live readiness lives on Guided Setup and the readiness widget.

Who it is for

Tenant admins (days 1–2) and clerks (days 2–5). Clerks can also follow the shorter reading list First week as clerk.

Preconditions

  • You can sign in to the correct workspace (Sign in).
  • Owner / admin has tenant.manage for settings and packs; clerks need the sales/purchasing/inventory permissions their roles grant.

Admin checklist (days 1–2)

  1. Confirm company identity, Base currency, Timezone, and fiscal year under Tenant settings — see Locale and currency.
  2. Set Enabled languages / Default language in Localization setup.
  3. Review Subscription → Modules and apply an Industry pack if the sector modules are missing — see Enable modules.
  4. Invite teammates under Members (Add member) and assign roles — see Users and roles.
  5. Verify core masters exist (or were seeded): legal entity/branch, chart of accounts, at least one warehouse, tax codes, and a starter catalog/parties set — Guided Setup lists those as required or recommended checks.
  6. Walk the shell once with Navigate BlueMatrix so Help and workspace switching are familiar.

Clerk checklist (days 2–5)

Work these in order (same spine as the clerk path):

  1. Sign in to the right workspace.
  2. Open Sales invoices, create a draft, then post when ready (sales.view / sales.manage / sales.post).
  3. Record a receipt against an open invoice (receipts post on create).
  4. Create a purchase bill, post when ready, and receive stock for stockable lines.
  5. Confirm stock and AR/AP balances look right with your manager before scaling volume.

Enabled modules

The in-app panel keeps the admin / clerk / manager path expanded. Enabled modules is collapsed by default and shows how many hubs remain (catalog, CRM, POS setup, HR, payroll, treasury, and so on). Visiting a hub marks that step done when you return to the dashboard — you do not need Done. Spine work such as create invoice or receive stock still needs Done (or Show me). Disabled modules stay hidden. Go-live still lives on Guided Setup.

Result

The workspace has locales, modules, and people in place; clerks have posted at least one sales invoice, one receipt, and one purchasing/stock flow; remaining module hubs have been opened once.

Hard stops

  • Suspended tenant → business APIs 403.
  • Module not enabled → 422 modules.not_enabled (ask admin / Ops — do not look for a Settings toggle).
  • Closed accounting period / posting lock date → posting blocked until an admin opens the period or adjusts the lock.
  • Missing warehouse, tax, or party masters → document create/post validation fails until masters exist.
