Work center setup checklist

Goal

Prepare master data so routings and work-order costing can use work centers.

Who it is for

Manufacturing admin / planner (manufacturing.manage; policies need manufacturing.admin).

Preconditions

• Module manufacturing enabled for the tenant.
• GL roles for WIP, inventory, factory overhead, and production variance exist (used later on WO postings).

Steps

1. Decide codes and naming for cells/lines/machines.
2. Enter realistic Labor rate / hr and Overhead rate / hr in the tenant base currency.
3. Create centers before building routings.
4. Review Tax & Statutory → Manufacturing setup shop-floor policies that affect how operations and issues behave on work orders.

Result

Active work centers are ready to attach to routing operations.
