Price group setup

Goal

Decide default group assignment for new customers and how group lists rank in precedence.

Who it is for

Admin with pricing.admin.

Preconditions

• At least one price group if you want auto-assign; module enabled.

Steps

1. Open Directory → Products → Pricing setup → Options.
2. Under Price lists & groups:
   • Set Price list precedence (includes where customer group sits vs explicit vs default).
   • Choose Default customer price group.
   • Enable Assign default price group when creating customers if every new customer should inherit that group.
3. Save.
4. Confirm customer forms show Price group and that lists used by groups have the right lines.

Result

New customers can enter the correct segment automatically; resolution order matches your policy.
